We booked the Melbourne's Best Tour's Great Ocean Road & Twelve Apostles tour via Groupon for our Day 2. We went to our pickup point in Federation Square early in the morning as the meet up time was 7:45 AM. I really find our hotel very convenient as it is near everything. It took us a couple of short tram rides to reach Federation square. A shuttle van arrived and after a quick headcount, off we went for our tour. I was really excited as I looked forward in seeing the Twelve Apostles. It's one of the famous landmarks in Victoria and it's been my chosen wallpaper on my Desktop PC. When I Get depressed and stressed during processing of my PR visa, I just stare at it and it always get me through the frustration. Back to our tour, the views along the way were really stunning! I was a bit sleepy but I didn't want to take a quick nap. I don't want to miss anything. I was just mesmerized by the sceneries along the way. We made a short stopover to allow us to buy snacks or have a quick breakfast. We then headed to another stopover at Anglesea which has the signed entrance of the Great Ocean Road/ The place is so lovely! We really enjoyed our time there that we forgot that we are only allowed to stay for I think 10-15 mins? Our guide was not happy for us being late but the place was so worth it. Our shuttle drove through the coastal towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay. It was very scenic. We then did another stop over to do some bird feeding and see the Koalas perched in the trees. Unlucky, the koalas are sleeping and were high up on the trees. Everyone had fun feeding the lovely, colorful birds. We don't want to be late anymore so we waited near the shuttle very early. Our guide might have felt guilty and urged us to explore the area as there's still plenty of time. He also explained his scolding earlier that few minutes is really valuable to them in respect to other tourists. We are not complaining though, we completely understood but I think I can fully enjoy my trip to Ocean Road if we were driving on our own and not so time-constrained. So note to self: MUST learn driving and get driver's license before moving to Australia! Good luck to me on that! We had our lunch on this quaint pretty restaurant. Their food is yummy and filling. We also enjoyed our meals here. Seriously, I had the best fish and chips in Melbourne! I wouldn't mind eating them everyday. Finally! We reached the highlight of our tour: The Twelve Apostles! The entire place was so magnificent! It was a surreal moment for me. I felt the hardship and difficulty I experienced during the visa process were very much worth it. The limestone stacks from the Southern Ocean are so grand and a sight to behold. I am not into camping but the entire place makes me want to camp there and explore this beauty for few days. We enjoyed our Great Ocean tour a lot but I'm planning to do a road trip here once I'm already settled in Melbourne. I really hope I have a driving license by then .
