I love documenting my travels in pictures or vids, maybe because my memory is not that stellar... :D I made this travel video of our Australia trip. It brings back lots of memories and made me realize how much fun we had. I am so glad my Baby Jermaine is not prone to tantrums. She likes travelling and doesn't complain much. She really made our trip triple fun with her jokes and funny commentaries! I am sooo looking forward to our future trips together.

We were supposed to visit Sydney beaches on the third day but the weather was a bit cold and the locations seemed far away. We were so lazy and since my Mom is fond of casinos, we decided to visit The Star. She's really not a hard core gambler, usually betting total of $50 is already enough for her. My good friend Debz, who is based in Sydney, offered to accommodate us in her home. Sadly, due to an unfortunate emergency, she had to fly back to the Philippines the day before our arrival. Nevertheless, we're very thankful to Debz as she still managed to arrange everything for our stay, despite her ordeal that time. I was a bit anxious at first as we were arriving in the evening and cabs are very expensive in AU. Luckily, with research and planning, we survived lol. We were able to get the house keys from her friend who lives in the same area and we managed to locate Debz's home. Her flat is so lovely and welcoming! It is also near Top Ryde Mall which we loved so much! Melbourne, Australia 2015: Melbourne CBD, Queen Victoria Market & Tesselaar Tulip Festival9/13/2016 We made our way to Queen Victoria Market in the morning of our last day in Melbourne. I think my mom enjoyed it here. The market is so large and very clean. The entire place is sectioned with different kinds of goods. I especially liked the fruits and cheese section. Everything looked fresh! On the third day, we were supposed to go to Mt. Buller for our first snow mountain experience. Sadly, we decided not to go as my Mom got a li'l sick from the cold weather, and we were not in the mood to wake up so early for the trip. I already booked the tour and it's a bit on the expensive side but sleeping in that morning was more attractive to us. We went out late that day and decided we head to Belgrave station to do the Puffing Billy train ride. We arrived there way past noon and was saddened we didn't make it to the last trip. My backup plan was to go to St. Nicholas Garden as the bus stop was just outside the Belgrave station. Unfortunately, we missed the last bus as well.
We booked the Melbourne's Best Tour's Great Ocean Road & Twelve Apostles tour via Groupon for our Day 2. We went to our pickup point in Federation Square early in the morning as the meet up time was 7:45 AM. I really find our hotel very convenient as it is near everything. It took us a couple of short tram rides to reach Federation square. We made our initial entry in Australia last September 2015. When I was scouting for flights in Singapore Airline site, I saw a multi-city option and decided to try it out. I was surprised that it was cheaper compared to a round-trip ticket. Booking SG-Melb and Syd-SG was only 700 sgd/pax compared to roundtrip SG-MELB-SG which was over 1k sgd. |
