I am not a morning person but I woke up way, way early to catch the sunrise at Ankor Wat. My tour guide fetched me at the hotel. He informed me that some parts of the temple would require me to cover my legs. I was in shorts so he almost had me change my clothes. I already planned my outfit for the temple tour so I showed him the skirt I brought along for cover up. He was hesitant at first but eventually he relented.
One fine day last January, I went on a solo trip to Cambodia. I was supposed to go with 2 of my flatmates but due to conflict of schedules, we ended up travelling separately. Also, I wasn't able to get a leave off work so the trip was just during my 3-day rest day. I really wanted to travel to Egypt but I settled for Ankor Wat since its cheaper and nearer. I never expected it to be an unforgettable and surreal trip.
