Last rainy Friday, I decided to leave work on the dot, and made a visit to the National Gallery of Victoria. They are currently having The House of Dior Exhibit, of which I was dying to see. I missed their Van Gogh Exhibit before so I said to myself I won't be missing this one.
I have been wanting to write a post the whole day yesterday but I was so busy unpacking my stuff that I only get to do now..which is my birthday already. I am not fond of celebrating hence this is not a birthday post. :D
I am so soooo happy that I get to update my blog again. My blog posts are piling up. I plan to stick with my HongKong series but there are some things I am very much excited to write about.
I am now here in Australia! I finally pushed through with my big move after my PR visa was granted 3 years back. A lot happened... I got sooo busy! I finally left Singapore and surprisingly, I didn't miss it or got very emotional about it. I still look back on my life there but it feels like a distant memory. I think it's because after Singapore, I travelled to few countries. I went to Dubai, Egypt and Turkey before settling for good here in Melbourne. Now, my heart aches every time I think about those trips. I fell in love with these countries! I think post-trip is usually the hardest part of travelling. Your heart aches so much with all the memories and you want to go back so bad!
The next morning, we went to visit the St. Paul's ruins and do Casino hopping. It seems only me and Jermaine were excited with the ruins. The oldies were more excited with casinos and I think that was the highlight of their Macau trip! :D
Last 2013, (blame in on the super cheap fare from Phils to HK) we had another family trip to HongKong. This time, we were with my Aunt whom we fondly call Madam Sal and her husband Tito Lesie. They are both based in Cebu and it was their first time in HK. They initially thought we were just touring HK, but knowing they're fond of casinos, I decided to add Macau to our itinerary.
My first trip to Hong Kong was in 2012. I was with my Mom, Baby JJ and my best friend Ann. We were pretty excited because..ehmmnnn Disneyland! It's also the first time for me and Ann to go to an overseas trip together!
I love documenting my travels in pictures or vids, maybe because my memory is not that stellar... :D I made this travel video of our Australia trip. It brings back lots of memories and made me realize how much fun we had. I am so glad my Baby Jermaine is not prone to tantrums. She likes travelling and doesn't complain much. She really made our trip triple fun with her jokes and funny commentaries! I am sooo looking forward to our future trips together.
We were supposed to visit Sydney beaches on the third day but the weather was a bit cold and the locations seemed far away. We were so lazy and since my Mom is fond of casinos, we decided to visit The Star. She's really not a hard core gambler, usually betting total of $50 is already enough for her.
My good friend Debz, who is based in Sydney, offered to accommodate us in her home. Sadly, due to an unfortunate emergency, she had to fly back to the Philippines the day before our arrival. Nevertheless, we're very thankful to Debz as she still managed to arrange everything for our stay, despite her ordeal that time. I was a bit anxious at first as we were arriving in the evening and cabs are very expensive in AU. Luckily, with research and planning, we survived lol. We were able to get the house keys from her friend who lives in the same area and we managed to locate Debz's home. Her flat is so lovely and welcoming! It is also near Top Ryde Mall which we loved so much!
We made our way to Queen Victoria Market in the morning of our last day in Melbourne. I think my mom enjoyed it here. The market is so large and very clean. The entire place is sectioned with different kinds of goods. I especially liked the fruits and cheese section. Everything looked fresh!
I am a Filipina, formerly based in Singapore and is now living permanently in Melbourne. Yet, I am really a global citizen at heart. :)
