Last rainy Friday, I decided to leave work on the dot, and made a visit to the National Gallery of Victoria. They are currently having The House of Dior Exhibit, of which I was dying to see. I missed their Van Gogh Exhibit before so I said to myself I won't be missing this one.
As I stepped foot inside the Exhibition room, I was greeted with a stunning, massive chandelier. As a lover of anything that sparkles, I was so giddy and excited. What made me more excited were the Dior couture gowns surrounding me. I was so inspired seeing these beautiful and intricate creations. They are a masterpiece! They are the perfect blend of fashion and art which can only comes from the mind of a genius.
A part of me wants (dreams) of being a fashion designer. I kept pushing the thought away as I am not sure if I have what it takes to be in that field. I like to draw and sketch dresses but I am not very good at it. It's not something I always do or be passionate about... but the desire of pursuing this field never really went away.
The House of Dior kinda reminded me why I wanted to be a Fashion Designer. I would love to make beautiful dresses! Now, I am starting to explore Fashion Design. I resumed my sewing class and I am planning to enroll in some short courses such as Pattern Making or Fashion Sketching. I need all the luck I can get as I don't really know what else I want to do... :))
Anyway, enough of my ramblings..it's time to showcase the iconic Dior dresses.
The Exhibition runs from Aug. 27 to Nov. 27 at the National Gallery of Victoria. For more info, just click here.
